Finding a niche of her own - from identified local need to business opportunity

Nasima Karim was not one to sit around twiddling her thumbs as life passed her by. This young mother of two little boys was a high achiever — with her professional background in HR and the drive to move forth she was committed to carve a niche for herself. After moving to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan her path crossed with Jannie Aasted Skov-Hansen, and together the dynamic duo created, here we are. It’s core idea was to connect people with people and open doors of opportunity. Hence, this liaison would facilitate networking and provide platform for exchange of experience and expertise.Jannie however had loftier plans; she moved on to establish here we are global and successfully spread its roots in so far 17 other countries.Too much time had elapsed, Nasima, while still running the local chapter of here we are Kyrgyzstan, was now restless and ready to stand on her own two feet. She was now involved with the local community and was aware of the obstacles that were holding back their progress. She realized that language skills and technical knowledge were desperately needed to propel the Kyrgyz youth forward. She asked herself, ‘what can I do that would not only benefit me but also those around me’? It was at this juncture that the idea of establishing a center that would incorporate both language and technology dawned on her.She reached out to her Pakistani counterpart, set up an office, hired Kyrgyz staff and launched LearnTech.pk.KG.This center is one of the first of it’s kind in the region and provides professional development and consultancy services to institutions and corporations. It targets at empowering employees and professionals to transform the way they learn and work by integrating technology as an enabler in their respective work fields. The company offers a unique blend of services using technological innovations while allowing the clients to keep intact their contextual realities, while armoring them with tools to meet global standards. The revolution of technology within business today makes it pertinent to accept and embrace the need for organization like these to work with, and change the outlook of cooperations.
